The Versteeg's Wedding

I guess my first cake wasn't too bad. At ten o'clock the next morning, I received a phone call from another neighbor asking if I could make a wedding cake for her son's wedding in two weeks. She said she had seen the wedding cake the night before and thought it was beautiful. She also was looking for an affordable wedding cake. We met two days later to discuss details and... Ta-dah! Wedding Cake #2 was invented:

This cake was a white cake with cherry filling. I covered it with a home made fondant and edible pearls.

I was much more confident in my abilities while making this cake. I guess the pep talks to myself actually worked. I just kept thinking, "I've already made one wedding cake, I know how to do this..." :)

The Tanner Wedding

On July 1, 2011, a neighbor got married. I was able to help her out by making her wedding cake at an affordable price. This was so FUN! My first "real" wedding cake!

This is the result:

This cake was a dark chocolate cake with a white chocolate filling. I covered it with a homemade chocolate fondant. YUM!

I know, there are flaws in the fondant. The reception was outside, at night. I was hoping the darkness outside would help hide the flaws. Also, this was my first time... I, of course, forgot to bring my nice camera to take pictures with. This was taken with my husband's cell phone. It was better than nothing!
